EMS provider Qisda has been devoting more efforts to develop medical care products, AI and IoT solutions, and key components, according to company chairman and CEO Peter Chen.

In addition to producing LCD displays, projectors, TVs and digital signage, Qisda has set up a business group to produce networking/communication devices and provide related services, and another to develop smart solutions for manufacturing, retail, medical care, energy management, enterprise administration and school administration, Chen said at a March 25 investors conference.

For medical care, Qisda's subsidiaries produce medical devices and consumable materials and operate two hospitals in China.

Of the fourth-quarter 2020 consolidated revenues of NT$57.134 billion (US$2.00 billion), networking/communication business accounted for 17%, smart solutions for 11%, and medical products and services for 6%.

The new businesses are crucial to Qisda's transformation, and Qisda aims to hike the revenue proportion for them to at least 50% in 2022.

Qisda's subsidiary BenQ Dialysis Technology has obtained certification for its hemodialyzers from China's National Medical Products Administration.
