In an unusual move, Samsung Electronics has released a teaser video for its next-generation mobile application processor, the Exynos 2600, before the chip officially hits the market. The announcement signals Samsung's growing confidence in its chipmaking capabilities, with leaked benchmark data suggesting that the Exynos 2600 could rival the latest processors from Qualcomm and Apple.
According to reports from South Korean media outlets Edaily and Yonhap News Agency, Samsung posted the teaser, titled "The Next Exynos," on YouTube. The company also highlighted on social media that the new processor promises a whole new possibility for mobile performance.
The video prominently features phrases like "Optimized at every level" and "To express the exceptional," concluding with a visual of the Exynos 2600 chip itself. Analysts interpret the pre-launch reveal as a bold statement of confidence in the processor's performance. The teaser also fuels speculation that the Exynos 2600 will likely power Samsung's next flagship, the Galaxy S26 series.
Strong start for flagship ambitions
The Galaxy S26, expected to launch in spring 2026, would mark Samsung's first flagship to feature the Exynos 2600, which reportedly began production in November 2025. Notably, the Exynos 2600 is Samsung's first 2-nanometer processor, underscoring the company's push into cutting-edge semiconductor technology.
Tech outlet PhoneArena noted that the pre-release teaser almost confirms the Exynos 2600's integration into the Galaxy S26 lineup.
Benchmark leaks suggest performance gains
Recent online leaks of benchmark results have only heightened expectations. The Exynos 2600 is said to outperform Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in several metrics, and in some tests, it reportedly matches Apple's M5 chip.
Although Samsung has yet to officially release detailed specifications, internal tests indicate the Exynos 2600's neural processing unit (NPU) is approximately six times faster than Apple's A19 Pro. Compared with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the NPU performance is reportedly 30% higher, while GPU performance is 29% superior.
By teasing the Exynos 2600 ahead of launch, Samsung appears to be staking its claim in the high-performance mobile chip market, signaling a renewed challenge to Qualcomm and Apple in the coming flagship cycle.
