Nan Ya PCB and Kinsus Interconnect Technology both saw their June revenue climb over 30% from a year earlier, driven mainly by the arrival of new production capacity, according to industry sources.

Nan Ya's June revenues rose 3.6% sequentially and 30.9% on year to a record single-month high of NT$4.246 billion (US$152.18 million), and January-June revenues jumped 37.1% on year to NT$ NT$23.34 billion, higher than even peak-season results in second-half 2020, the sources said.

The company's new ABF substrate capacity at its plant in Kunshan, China has entered commercial runs since the second quarter, effectively helping to digest its order in hand. It is also set to boost BT substrate capacity by 10% in 2021 through clearing bottlenecks at production lines.

Nan Ya is expected to see its revenues grow month by month in second-half 2021, and its new plant in northern Taiwan will bring more growth momentum after starting commercial production by the end of the year, the sources said.

Kinsus also performed well in the first half of the year, with revenues for the period expanding 25.81% on year to a record high of NT$15.951 billion. Its June revenues broke the NT$3 billion level for the first time ever, reaching NT$3.119 billion, up 31.34% on year.

The company continues to roll out new ABF substrate capacity, with a 30% expansion planned for the whole 2021 to better serve clients including Xilinx, Nvidia, Broadcom, AMD and TI, sources said. It will also complete a 10% capacity expansion for BT substrates by the end of the year, serving AiP and SiP substrate demand from Apple as well as handset AP and high-end memory substrate demand from other clients, the sources indicated.
