Taiwan-based Coasia Microelectronics and Supreme Electronics have both gained the distribution rights to sell Samsung Electronics' AMOLED panels for smartphones, and recently expanded their respective client bases in China, according to industry sources.

Coasia has cut into the supply chains of China-based Xiaomi Technology, OPPO and Gionee, through supplying Samsung's AMOLED panels for their smartphones, the sources disclosed. Shipments are scheduled to kick off during the third quarter, the sources said.

Coasia said previously that sales of its subsidiary in China would expand 2-3 fold in the second half of 2012.

Supreme, also a sales agent for Samsung, has delivered samples of Samsung's AMOLED panels for design-in to ZTE, Hisense and TCL, the sources indicated. Supreme is expected to see sales generated from its distribution of Samsung's AMOLED panel products make a solid contribution to revenues starting the fourth quarter, the sources said.

Supreme also has a subsidiary in China, named ToTop Electronics, to distribute products from Samsung for the region.

In addition, the distribution of MCP (multi-chip package) memory solutions from Samsung has started contributing substantially to Supreme's revenues, thanks to brisk orders placed by China-based smartphone companies, the sources pointed out.
