Rexchip Electronics, the production subsidiary of Japan's Elpida Memory, has reported an over 20% decline in July 2011 revenues from the previous month.
Rexchip registered NT$2.2 billion (US$75.8 million) in July revenues, down 22.1% on month. Revenues for the first seven months of 2011 totaled NT$20.73 billion, a 31.4% decline compared to the NT$30.23 billion posted a year earlier.
Fellow DRAM manufacturers Nanya Technology and Inotera Memories also saw sales decline sequentially in July, by 24.6% and 9.4%, respectively.
With DRAM prices likely to continue trending downward, the major Taiwan-based suppliers' sales for August are expected to be dragged down, according to industry observers.
