I think the wait will be worth it, not because I prefer ATI or Nvidia, just that having a competitor, will drive down prices. Also that when all the cards are released we as consumers can buy the best possible graphics solution for our needs.

Wait for Fermi - You won't be sorry - They will beat ATI Hands Down. I have seen real tests side by side from friends of mine in the business. Fermi will be Awesome. At least twice as fast in gaming than the upper GTX line now.

"I gave up on Fermi and bought an ATI 5850. NVIDIA lost my $300 this upgrade cycle. Maybe I'll go back in two yeas when I upgrade"
Same here, I didn't know ATI was this good. 5850 ROCKS!

"Don't get an ATI card. The hardware is good, but the drivers suck, and you'll run into lots of problems."

I have used ATI for the last 2 generations of cards and they have been excellent.

Nvidia, you think early adopters are going to put up with this? No. They will buy ATI you fools!

While it's true that AMD drivers are subpar compared to Nvidia's, their hardware is much more advanced, and most importantly, it's available.

Geez don't get ATI? I've been using ATI for more than 10 years and I haven't ran into any driver problems whatsoever. No problems with Nvidia either.

Driver problems? I've been using ATI since 2002 and I haven't had a significant problem besides Anti Aliasing not working in some titles, or some performance issues in one or two games. After all, most crashes are related to the infamous nvlddmkm.

Wow...this may be the deal breaker for me. I'm still running a 7800GTX on a brand new Core i7 system and intended to upgrade to an Nvidia DirectX 11 solution either in December or January. With this news, it looks like I may have to side with ATI.
