Xiaomi Technology has unveiled two smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 4S, in Beijing as its latest efforts to fend off increasing competition from local rivals, such as Huawei, Coolpad and LeTV.
The Mi 5 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, 3D cover glass, optical shock resistance, NFC, and rapid-charging technologies.
The Mi 5 will be available in China from March 1 with prices starting at CNY1,999 (US$306), according to the vendor.
The Mi 4S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 CPU, supports fingerprint identification, USB Type-C and LTE Cat. 9.
Xiaomi will also start promoting the Mi 4S in cooperation with channel operator Suning in China on March 1 with prices starting at CNY1,699.
