LED packaging house Ledtech Electronics and LED chipmaker Tekcore have both posted record revenues for October, while LED packaging house Unity Opto Technology saw a 4.77% sequential decline last month.
Ledtech's October consolidated revenues grew 22.79% sequentially and 10.34% on year to NT$141 million (US$4.34 million), according to data from the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE). Consolidated revenues from January to October were NT$1.08 billion, down 5.55% on year.
The October revenue growth was mainly due to orders from Japan-based Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha, which accounted for about 20% of Ledtech's total sales, industry sources said.
Tekcore saw revenues increase 28.71% sequentially and 62.01% on year to NT$146 million in October, according to TSE data. Revenues from January to October totaled NT$944.31 million, up 8.47% on year.
The revenues grew as the company cleared out its green LED inventory, the sources said. The company is expected to enter the supply chain of LED backlighting for LCD TVs in November, with revenues for the month reaching over NT$120 million.
Unity Opto has reported revenues of NT$440.68 million for October, down 4.77% sequentially from NT$462.46 million but up 72.14% on year from NT$256 million, according to TSE data.
Revenues from January to October increased 21.41% on year to NT$3.22 billion.
Demand for LED backlighting for LCD monitors and TVs remain as the growth driver, and the company's fourth-quarter revenues are expected to increase over 70% on year, Tekcore added.
