BenQ has launched seven new LCD TV models in the Taiwan market in sizes ranging from 32-inches to 52-inches, according to the company.
Danny Yao, BenQ Taiwan general manager noted that three out of the seven newly introduced models feature 120Hz refresh rates, and the company has also added 32-inch and 52-inch full HD models in an effort to improve its market share in the high-end of the market. Pricing on the 52-inch model is set at NT$89,000 (US$2709.50), he added.
Yao said that the price gap between LCD TVs with 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates will narrow to about NT$10,000 in the fourth quarter of 2009.
BenQ aims to rank second in the local Taiwan LCD TV market this year, with a share of 12-13% by the end of 2009, up from 10% currently. The company aims to sell 100,000 LCD TVs in Taiwan this year and 300,000 LCD TVs in total, with China, the Middle East and Hong Kong being its other major markets.
