Taiwan-based WiMAX operator Global Mobile plans to launch VoIP services starting the second half of 2010 and aims to boost its subscribers to 30,000 by the end of 2010, according to company chairperson Rosemary Ho.

The company has continued to roll out its WiMAX infrastructure in northern Taiwan, aiming to extend its WiMAX coverage to include up to 90% of the area in Taipei City and 70% in Taipei County by the end of 2010, Ho noted.

Global Mobile also aims to reach a breakeven point in terms of EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, amortization) by the end of 2011, Ho stated.
