ATI Technologies yesterday announced the availability of its Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics processor unit (GPU), built using a 90nm process technology at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). Soon after the announcement, Asustek Computer unveiled its A7G notebook based on the GPU, with availability slated for the end of this month. The 17.1-inch notebook model is based on the Intel Centrino platform and has a built-in 1.3-megapixel videl camera. Pricing is not yet available.
