Innolux sees 10-20% decline in TV panel shipments in June

Innolux saw about a 10-20% decline in TV panel shipments during June 2013, according to industry sources.

The sources said the decline was largely due to weak demand in China as a result of the local government discontinuing subsidies to local consumers for LCD TV purchases. About 30-40% of Innolux's TV panel shipments go to customers in China.

However, Innolux has reportedly landed new orders for 58-inch Ultra HD TV panels, which should reach around 50,000-60,000 units a month.

Innolux is also shipping 39-inch Ultra HD TV panels, the sources said, adding that shipments are limited due to price competition in the 30-inch TV segment. Innolux saw better results for its 50-inch Ultra HD TV shipments in June, however, which reached 100,000 units, the sources noted.
