First-tier chassis maker Ju Teng International, in addition to ultrabook chassis orders from 5-6 PC brand vendors, has entered into Samsung Electronics' notebook supply chain and will start shipping early April, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
In addition to plastic chassis production, Ju Teng has also recently been aggressively developing chassis with materials such as carbon fiber and glass fiber, and has also established a joint venture with Compal Electronics to enter the metal chassis industry and successfully landed unibody metal chassis orders from Samsung, the paper noted.
With Samsung's orders, Ju Teng's metal chassis is expected to account for 15% of its total shipments in 2012, up from 8% in 2011, the paper added.
