Major Taiwan-based copper-clad laminate (CCL) manufacturers Elite Material (EMC), Iteq, and Taiwan Union Technology (TUC) have reported sequential growths in consolidated revenues for July 2011. Sales are expected to see another on-month growth in August as they are expected to hike their quotes, probably at least 5%, for the month, according to industry sources.

EMC saw its consolidated revenues increase 8% sequentially and 14% on year to NT$1.35 billion (US$46.54 million) in July, the company's highest monthly record. Accumulated revenues for the January-July period amounted to NT$8.96 billion, increasing 15.3% from a year earlier.

EMC revealed that its overall capacity utilization rate reached 80% in the second quarter, with the production lines at its plant in China running almost at full capacity. It expects the utilization rate to remain high in the third quarter.

EMC's new plant in China, currently under construction in Kunshan, is slated for volume production in November 2011 with a monthly capacity of 300,000 units of CCLs, the company said.

Fellow company Iteq saw revenues gain 8% on month to NT$1.71 billion in July. Revenues for the January-July period grew 0.3% on year to NT$11.83 billion. Iteq also reported net profits of NT$331 million for the second quarter and net profits of NT$837 million for the January-June period, which translated into an EPS of NT$2.95.

TUC's July revenues were up 17% sequentially to NT$998 million and combined revenues for the first seven months grew 11.7% on year to NT$6.59 billion.
