Hynix announces development of 2Gb mobile DRAM
Hynix Semiconductor has announced the development of 2Gb mobile DRAM chips using 54nm process technology.The new Hynix 2Gb mobile DRAM boasts maximum operating speeds of 400Mbps at 1.2V power supply and processes up to 1.6 gigabytes per second with a 32-bit I/O.Hynix' new 2Gb mobile DRAM, which meets JEDEC standard, is suited for the next-generation MID (Mobile Internet Device) and UMPC (ultra mobile PC) applications, according to the company.Hynix has scheduled to kick off the mass production in the first half of 2009.Hynix 54nm 2Gb mobile DRAMPhoto: Company

BenQ launches 10.1-inch netbook
BenQ has launched its Joybook Lite U101 netbook featuring a 10.1-inch 16:9 screen with LED backlight unit (BLU).The netbook is already available in Taiwan, and the company has also started shipping it to channels in China. Taiwan market: Nokia launches 5800 XpressMusic handset

Taiwan market: Acer to start selling Core i7-based desktop PC at IT Month 2008
Acer has announced that it will start selling its first Intel Core i7-based desktop PC, the Aspire M7720, in Taiwan at IT Month 2008 which begins November 29.The Aspire M7720 features Intel's quad-core Core i7 920 CPU, 3GB DDR3 1066 memory (expandable up to 12GB) and a 750GB hard drive. Fujitsu introduces first netbook series
Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific has announced the debut of the M1010, the first in its new M series product line.As with most netbooks the M1010 includes a 8.9-inch widescreen display with a 1024×600 pixel resolution, Intel Atom N270 CPU, and 1GB RAM (DDR2, 533MHz). Biostar launches Intel X58-based motherboard
Biostar Microtech International has unveiled a top of the line motherboard for next generation Intel platform-TPower X58 based on Nehalem architecture.The TPower X58 adopts Intel X58 chipset, supports Intel latest Core i7 series processor family. Intel Core i7 series processors support quad-core and hyper threading technology.The chipset also supports the latest Intel QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) technology, which features point-to-point architecture, while improving scalability, and eliminating the competition between processors for bus bandwidth.The TPower X58 also features Biostar's self-developed technologies including 100% XDC (extreme durable capacitor), space-pipe thermal design, a 12-phase power design and green power utility.The 12-phase power design will provide highly efficient power control to generate less heat than traditional solutions. Taiwan market: Samsung launches i8510 handset for high-end segment

Nvidia launches entry-level professional GPUs for small and integrated form factors
Nvidia has announced the Quadro FX 470, the first integrated professional motherboard GPU, and Quadro FX 370 Low Profile, an entry-level Quadro graphics boards for small form factor (SFF) systems.Increasing performance and reliability both boards are certified for key DCC and CAD applications from independent software vendors such as Autodesk and Adobe, said Nvidia. Designed to fit in space-saving configurations, the Quadro FX 370 LP GPU has a price at US$149 and offers professional graphics performance with fanless cooling for a quieter work environment. Alienware launches first ATI CrossFireX notebook
Gaming notebook manufacturer Alienware is putting two ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3800-series graphics processors in the Alienware M17 notebook PC.
