MSI has shown off a concept which harnesses Stirling Engine theory to power a PC cooling fan without the need for electricity. Heat is transferred from the motherboard northbridge chipset which the Stirling Engine uses to spin the cooling fan and cool down the heatsink.

Web search company Google has agreed to build an undersea cable with five telecoms operators that will link the US to Japan, and provide the capacity to sustain a surge in Internet traffic between the continents.
