Global small- to medium-size LCD panel shipments are estimated to reach 1.8 billion units in 2024, falling at a negative CAGR of 4.4% 2019 through 2024
Global large-size LCD panel shipments will fall at a negative CAGR of 0.8% 2020 through 2024 mainly due to saturated demand for TVs, monitors and AIO PCs, notebooks as well as 9-inch and larger tablets.
Taiwan PC monitor shipments continued their on-year growth momentum in the second quarter of 2019, but the increase slowed to only 4.5% with the volume reaching 21.98 million units.
Although second-quarter 2019 was the traditional peak season for the small- to medium-size panel industry, Taiwan's shipments still dipped 2.7% sequentially and 42.9% on year to reach only 178.72 million units.
Global all-in-one (AIO) PC shipments will continue shrinking in 2019, following 2018's around 2% on-year drop. With issues such as US-China trade tensions and Intel's CPU shortages, and Lenovo and Apple having been cutting their orders, Taiwan makers are also expected to see their related shipments to be impacted.
