Under the plans, the company's display business will be divided into three groups: Technology Group, Business Group, and Manufacturing Group, effective on November 1.
The Technology Group is headed by CTO Wei-Lung Liau; the Business Group is led by vice president TY Lin; and the Manufacturing Group is managed by vice president Ting-Li Lin.

Given that innovative technologies are the key to maintaining the company's long-term competitiveness, the Technology Group will utilize its technological sharing platform to link up research resources to develop cross-sector products and solutions, attaining technological integration both vertically and horizontally, said Liau.
The Business Group will aim to integrate the company's various product units to meet increasing demands for all kinds of smart applications, which include smart solutions for retailing, transportation, medical, industrial and commercial purposes, the company said.
With regard to manufacturing, the company will consolidate its resources to continue the build-up of its smart manufacturing capability, combining AI and big data analysis.
