FPCB maker Ichia lowers 1Q10 guidance

Button and flexible PCB maker (FPCB) Ichia Technologies has revised its first-quarter 2010 revenue guidance from a single-digit decline to a 10-15% decline due to worse-than-expected sales in February, which dropped 18.3% sequentially to NT$438 million (US$13.69 million).

Due to labor shortages around the period of the Lunar New Year, Ichia's February production output could not meet the orders it received, resulting in a 22.91% and 11.26% decline in revenues generated from FPCB and button sales, respectively.

The company said almost all employees have returned to work, so revenues will pick up in March and are expected to perform better than in January.
