LCD driver IC designers Novatek Microelectronics and Orise Technology have posted revenues of NT$2.51 billion (US$77.7 million) and NT$399 million for October, down 10.9% and 17.5% on month, respectively.
Novatek has estimated its revenues will drop by double-digits in the fourth quarter due to seasonality. Orise is also expected to see a 10-15% revenue decline in that quarter, said market sources.
Demand from the digital still camera (DSC), digital photo frame and set-top box (STB) sectors will see the biggest drop, while the decline of TV and handset related products will be relatively smaller, according to the sources.
