Containerized data center and liquid cooling development

Liquid cooling demand drives containerized data center development; 2026 AI server liquid cooling penetration rate expected to exceed 50%.
Abstract

DIGITIMES believes that starting in 2026, major cloud providers, including Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, and Meta Platforms, will widely adopt self-developed ASIC AI servers equipped with liquid cooling solutions.

Liquid cooling is not merely an upgrade of individual components but drives innovation across the entire data center’s mechanical and electrical architecture, server design, and testing processes. It is estimated that as cloud providers ramp up shipments of ASIC AI servers with liquid cooling in 2026, the penetration rate of liquid-cooled AI servers could surpass 50%.

The Taiwanese server liquid-cooling supply chain has leveraged its strengths in metal fabrication, system integration, and validation capabilities to establish a dominant position in key segments such as cooling distribution units (CDUs), cold plates, and manifolds, and is moving into higher-barrier markets such as quick connectors.
