Taiwan Mobile announced on September 16 that its investment partner, Nada Holdings, will officially be listed on the over-the-counter (OTC) market on September 18, becoming Taiwan's first company to enter the capital market with a core strategy centered on anime, comics, and games (ACG) intellectual property (IP).
At the pre-OTC briefing, Taiwan Mobile president Jamie Lin noted that since Taiwan Mobile purchased a 17.65% stake in 2021, Nada has seen its annual revenue surge, from the range of millions of New Taiwan Dollars during the pandemic, to surpassing NT$200 million (approx. US$6.6 million) in 2024.
Furthermore, Taiwan Mobile and Nada jointly established Tropics Entertainment in 2024 to strengthen their IP content layout, with Taiwan Mobile holding a 40% stake. The new venture focuses on animation IP agency and distribution, delivering high-quality IPs to audiences of all ages through Taiwan Mobile's OTT platform MyVideo. In just a single year, Tropics Entertainment has achieved remarkable results to become one of the top three animation agents for new Taiwanese releases, and has demonstrated rapid scaling capabilities by reaching profitability in the second quarter of 2025.
As Lin noted, the collaboration between Taiwan Mobile and Nada has now become a formidable flagship IP team covering animation production, IP licensing and agency, and game development and publishing.
In the gaming sector, Nada Holdings plans to launch multiple heavyweight titles starting in the fourth quarter of 2025, working closely with business units at Taiwan Mobile for cross-platform marketing and user engagement. Additionally, Nada has entered the game production business by releasing internationally recognized self-developed titles.
Looking ahead, Taiwan Mobile will continue supporting Nada by utilizing resources and market advantages across both companies to jointly build a comprehensive entertainment ecosystem covering content creation, digital platforms, international cooperation, and offline experiences. Through Taiwan Mobile's "Telco+Tech" strategy and the Bridge Alliance of international telecom companies, the two partners aim to promote Taiwan's IP expertise across Southeast Asia, expanding the international influence of the local ACG ecosystem.
