Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) has seen shipments of both large-size and small- to medium- size panels increase as the supply of glass substrates is stabilizing, according to company CFO James Wu.
Wu indicated that although the supply is stabilizing, CPT has yet to receive sufficient supply for September and is unable to make estimations for October, Wu said.
As glass shortage has not yet completely eased, CPT has not yet scheduled a time for resuming production at its suspended 4.5G line, Wu indicated.
Giantplus Technology and TPO Display are epxected to increase their purchases from CPT, as Giantplus is already running at full capcity and TPO's utilization is almost full, market sources said.
CPT has one third of Giantplus' shares, the sources said, adding that CPT currently has one 6G, two 4.5G and one 4G lines.
