The departure of several minor optical disc drive (ODD) players in Taiwan during the second half of 2004 has resulted in a significant decline in shipments. Taiwan’s ODD shipment for the first quarter of 2005 dropped to 25.23 million units, down 7.1% on year and 8.5% on quarter.
