Fabless LCD developer Pixel Qi has announced it has struck a manufacturing partnership with Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) of Taiwan.

The profit gain was largely due to "a significantly improved performance in electronic devices, driven mainly by the return to profit of the LCD business and demand expansion in NAND flash memories," Toshiba said in a statement.

In January 2010, the imaging and photography giant filed a complaint with the U.S. ITC against Apple and RIM, alleging that the phone makers infringed on a Kodak patent involving image previews.

Apple has been criticized by Chinese green groups for lax corporate oversight of its suppliers in China, leading to poor environmental and work safety standards that poisoned dozens of factory workers.

AUO CEO LJ Chen will be allowed to travel outside the US for the first time since criminal price-fixing charges restricted his movements. While in Taiwan Chen will not be allowed to meet with any of his co-defendants, some of whom may be there at the same time.
