LGE's European plants will stop production of unprofitable models smaller than 30 inches and instead focus on manufacturing high value-added larger LCD TVs.

LOI to be accepted by early October. Preferred bidders selected by November

LG has been in talks with Daewoo Electronics to outsource part of its production of LCD TVs in Europe, both companies said on Monday.

Sharp President & COO Mikio Katayama introduced Sharp's next-generation LCD TV and outlined the company's business strategy, including plans to build a new manufacturing complex in Japan.

Sample shipments will begin in September of this year, with volume production slated to start next spring.
