Intel Bay Trail-based Atom Z3000 series processor
Intel has launched its latest family of low-power systems-on-a-chip (SoC), codenamed Bay Trail, for tablets, 2-in-1s and other mobile devices. It will be available to consumers and business users in the fourth quarter of 2013 from brand vendors including AAVA, Acer, Asustek Computer, Dell, Lenovo and Toshiba, Intel said. The Bay Trail family is based on Intel's low-power, high-performance microarchitecture Silvermont, announced in May 2013. The Intel Atom Z3000 processor series (Bay Trail-T) is the company's first mobile multi-core SoC and is designed specifically for tablets and other mobile devices. The flexibility of the new microarchitecture allows for variants of the SoC to serve multiple market segments, including new Intel Pentium and Celeron processors (Bay Trail-M and -D) for 2-in-1s, notebooks, desktops and all-in-one systems.

Lenovo ThinkStation E series workstation
Lenovo has announced the ThinkStation E32, an entry-level workstation for professionals working in computer-aided design, product development and architecture. The ThinkStation E32 is available with Intel Xeon E3 or fourth-generation Intel Core i7 and Core i5 processors. On select models, the E32 also comes with a 60-day free trial of Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2014 drafting software. Available as a tower or small form factor (SFF), the ThinkStation E32 features Intel's Xeon E3 1200 v3 product family. In addition to the Autodesk AutoCAD LT trial, the ThinkStation E32 is equipped with Microsoft's Windows 8 Pro and is certified to run many key applications from professional independent software vendors (ISV), including Adobe, PTC, SolidWorks and Siemens PLM. ISV certification protects user investment by ensuring a tried and tested solution with full application support from the software vendor. Users also benefit from the workstation's Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory to reduce the possibility of memory-related errors and critical data loss.

Acer Wintel-based Iconia W3 tablet
Acer has unveiled its Iconia W3, an 8.1-inch tablet running Windows 8 with an Intel Atom processor. The Iconia W3 will features pre-installed Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 at no additional expense. The Iconia W3 is powered by Intel's Atom Z2760 processor. It provides up to eight hours of battery life. It features front- and rear-facing 2-megapixel webcams, a micro-HDMI port, a micro-USB port and support for 802.11b/g/n wireless technology. The tablet is available with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, and customers can add an additional 32GB via microSD for extra storage.
