VIA SOM-6X80 system on module
VIA Technologies has announced the launch of the SOM-6X80, an ultra-compact low-power system-on-module that accelerates the development and deployment of automated ticketing, signage, and kiosk systems for retail, transportation, and industrial IoT applications. Powered by a 1GHz dual-core VIA Cortex-A9 SoC, the VIA SOM-6X80 delivers advanced compute and multimedia performance in an ultra-compact low-power package that measures just 6.67cm by 6.3cm. In addition to 8GB eMMC flash memory and 2GB DDR3 SDRAM onboard, the module offers an array of I/O and display expansion options to facilitate integration into small system form factors and ensure connectivity with cameras, card readers, printers, POS systems, and screens. These options include three USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port, one DVO port or one single-channel 18/24-bit LVDS panel, 6 UART, one CSI camera input, 10/100Mbps Ethernet, 9 GPIO, and one SD Card slot.

VIA ARM DS digital signage system
VIA Technologies has announced the VIA ARM digital signage (DS) system. Developed for the Android operating system, the VIA ARM DS is an all-in-one system-ready solution for managing dynamic displays. Applications range from kiosks, POS systems, video walls, and menu boards to TVOIP, cloud streaming, and out of home advertising across a broad spectrum of retail, hospitality, education, and entertainment environments. The VIA ARM DS system measures just 18 x 12 x 2.5cm. It also features all-in-one system-ready-to-load software and industry standard ARM Cortex A9 SoC.

VIA VB7009 embedded Mini-ITX motherboard
VIA Technologies has announced the VIA VB7009 embedded Mini-ITX motherboard. Measuring only 17x17cm, the VIA VB7009 Mini-ITX is a flexible embedded board for POS and kiosks. The VIA VB7009 offers a ange of VIA CPU choices, including the dual core VIA Nano X2 processor. Paired with the VIA VX900 unified all-in-one media system processor, the VIA VB7009 Mini-ITX embedded board delivers a platform that supports HD video formats at resolutions of up to 1080p. The VIA VB7009 Mini-ITX embedded board offers a variety of CPU choices ranging from a fanless 1.0GHz VIA C7 to either a 1.6GHz VIA C7-D or 1.2GHz dual core VIA Nano X2 processor. In addition to enabling support for up to 4GB of DDR3 system memory, the VIA VX900 MSP features the VIA ChromotionHD 2.0 video processor, boasting hardware acceleration for the latest VC1, H.264, MPEG-2 and WMV9 HD formats at screen resolutions of up to 1080p. Rear I/O includes one VGA port, four USB 2.0 ports, one COM port, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one PS/2 keyboard/mouse port and three audio jacks for line-in/out and mic-in. Onboard pin headers provide support for an additional four USB 2.0 ports, three COM pin headers, an LPC connector, SMBus connector, PS/2 support, audio jacks, and LVDS. The VIA VB7009 is fully compatible with Microsoft and the most popular Linux operating systems and is available in a variety of configurations.
