Global EV sales are expected to grow by 18.8% in the year 2025, while the performance gap among major EV markets will become more pronounced.
Abstract
DIGITIMES observes that while the global EV (EV) market continued to grow in 2024, the growth rate had slowed down. Sales are expected to reach 17.23 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 25.5%.
Although China maintained an overwhelming lead in the global market, the performances of the European and American markets were below expectations due to policies and weak demand.
Looking ahead to 2025, DIGITIMES estimates that global EV sales will reach 20.47 million units, with a year-on-year growth rate of 18.8%, highlighting more pronounced differences in performance across regions, characterized by "rapid growth in China, stable recovery in Europe, and slowing growth in the US."
