LG Electronics has launched its LG G5 Speed smartphone in the Taiwan market in cooperation with Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), priced at NT$23,900 (US$740) unlocked.
The LG G5 Speed, which is almost identical to the LG G5, supports 4G LTE 900MHz, 1,800MHz and 2,600MHz using 3-carrier aggregation (3CA) technology, according to LG Taiwan.
The G5 Speed features a 5.3-inch IPS display, Qualcomm 2.1GHz Snapdragon 820 CPU, a 16-megapixel main camera and an e-8-megapixel front-facing camera with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM.
LG aims to take up a 5% share in the local smartphone market in terms of sales value in 2016, according to sources at LG Taiwan.
Meanwhile, Sony Mobile Communications plans to release three new Xperia family products, the Xperia X Performance, Xperia X and Xperia XA, in the Taiwan market on June 8.
