Taiwan-based automotive diode maker Actron Technology has announced revenues of NT$266 million (US$8.85 million) for June, down 14.4% on month but up 8.2% on year. Second-quarter revenues gained 11.6% sequentially to a record high of NT$882 million.
For the first half of 2013, revenues reached NT$1.67 billion, increasing 12.7% from a year earlier.
Actron is expected to post a gross margin of over 30% in the second quarter compared to 26.2% in the previous quarter due to an increase in the ratio of in-house produced diffusion wafers and lower copper prices, according to an estimate by industry sources.
Actron has managed to ramp up the ratio of in-house produced diffusion wafers to 60-70% recently, compared to 35% in the first quarter, the sources noted.
