Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) expects its EPS for 2013 to grow beyond the NT$8.03 (US$0.27) recorded in the previous year, according to company chairman Terry Guo.
Foxconn's revenues will also continue to grow in 2013, but may not expand at the pace recorded in the previous year, Guo admitted. Foxconn saw its revenues grow 13.1% to NT$3.45 trillion in 2012.
Foxconn's sales will gain momentum in the second half of 2013 following an improvement in product mix completed in the first half, Guo told shareholders on June 26.
Foxconn also told shareholders that it plans to spin off more of its business units in the next few years after the planned separation of its connector manufacturing unit, the Network Interconnection Business Group (NWInG) scheduled in July 2013. The NWInG will be named Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT) and is likely to be listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) at the end of 2013.
However, Guo stressed that the ongoing corporate restructuring is an adjustment of the competitiveness of the group's core technologies, but not a process of spin-off and that revenues generated from those separated units will still be included in the group's total revenues.
Foxconn also plans to list two more subsidiaries within the next two to years, including the Tainjin-based CNTouch, which makes carbon nanotubes for touch applications, sensors, cables and LED lighting products, as well as a subsidiary which makes glues and tapes, according to the company.
