Most handset component makers expect their revenues to continue to ride high in the second quarter of 2007 after having mixed results in the first quarter, according to sources at the makers.

Merry Electronics (handset speakers and headsets) projects its consolidated revenues for the second quarter to grow 20% sequentially from the first-quarter's NT$3.60 billion (US$108.8 million), which were up 58.7% from a year earlier, according to sources at the company.

For April alone, the company expects its consolidated revenues to hit another high after seeing its revenues jump 78.8% on year to top a record high of NT$716 million in March, said the sources.

Keypad specialist Silitech Technology also expects its consolidated revenues to expand more than 20% sequentially in the second quarter following a 5.5% sequential decline, to NT$1.95 billion in the first quarter, whereas Ichia Technologies (keypads and flexible PCBs) expects its revenues to improve significantly in the second quarter from first-quarter's NT$1.54 billion, which were down 17.7% sequentially and also down 22.9% on year.
