Most Taiwan-based handset component makers posted strong gains in revenues for 2006 despite sequential setbacks recorded in December, according to data released by the companies.

Merry Electronics (headsets and speakers) expects its revenues to climb to a new high in January since part of its December shipments will be postponed to this month and order for its new stereo Bluetooth headsets will begin to be delivered in January, said company sources.

Handset chassis maker Taiwan Chi Cheng Enterprise is expected to enjoy strong sales in January with its revenues to hover around at December's level, thanks to continued orders from Motorola, according to market sources.
