VinFast is the automotive subsidiary of Vingroup, the largest company in Vietnam, which plans to become an international car brand. The initial models were built with the help of European car-related companies and showcased at international auto shows. VinFast has become one of the top five brands in Vietnam in 1Q20 and start selling cars in the US, Europe, Indonesia, and other markets. The company announced in Mar 2022 that it will establish an EV assembly plant in the U.S. In addition to EV production. VinFast also cooperated with China’s Gotion High-Tech to develop batteries, and with Taiwan's Prologium Technology to develop solid-state batteries, and invested in the startup StoreDot to acquire fast-charging technology. VinAI and VinES are self-driving technology and battery company respectively.
