Amid mounting tariff pressures and geopolitical risks, the Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) announced that it will showcase a Taiwan advanced packaging zone at Apex Expo 2026, a global printed circuit board (PCB) trade event held in Southern California. A commanding global footprint
Industry analysts note that Taiwan's semiconductor and PCB sectors play a critical role in the global artificial intelligence (AI) server supply chain, with Taiwanese PCB makers ranking among the world's top producers by output volume. Taiwan commands 69% of the market share in semiconductors and 51% in packaging and testing globally, while its share of the critical IC substrate market stands at 33.5%. With AI applications and heterogeneous integration advancing rapidly, these figures are expected to grow further, reinforcing the strategic importance of Taiwan's PCB supply chain in the global technology landscape.
Five companies, one unified front
Apex Expo 2026 will take place March 17–19 in Anaheim, California. The TPCA will bring together supply chain players, including Kaston, Vesta Microsystem, Microcosm Technology, Gredmann Group, and Taihong Circuit, to jointly establish the Taiwan advanced packaging exhibition zone at the show. Recognizing the US as a core player in the global market, the zone will focus on the advanced packaging and high-end PCB sectors, showcasing flagship technologies and manufacturing capabilities from Taiwanese companies, while fostering deeper collaboration and exchange with international partners.
Building bridges beyond the booth
In response to the global supply chain restructuring trend, the TPCA said it will continue to strengthen the Taiwan PCB industry's ties with and presence in the US market. In 2025, the association held the Taiwan High Tech Forum in California and participated in the Taiwan Expo in Texas to further promote the technological strengths of Taiwan's PCB industry to US buyers and industry partners.
