Yageo, the Taiwanese manufacturer of electronic components, stated on Monday that a fire at a neighboring facility near its Dafa No. 3 plant in Kaohsiung did not impact its own operations.
In a statement, the company said the blaze broke out around midday at a factory adjacent to the Dafa Industrial Park, where Yageo's plant is located, but did not spread to any of its facilities. Firefighters responded quickly, and Yageo provided additional support, including three on-site water lines and other firefighting infrastructure, to assist in extinguishing the fire.
The company said the incident caused no injuries and resulted in no damage to its production equipment or inventory. As a precaution, employees were temporarily evacuated in accordance with emergency procedures and were able to do so safely. Yageo said it would continue to monitor conditions at the site.
Yageo's Dafa No. 3 plant, which commenced mass production in 2024, specializes in automotive electronics, including components used in EVs and industrial-grade capacitors. Most of the plant's output is shipped to customers in Europe and the US.
Operating at full capacity, the Dafa No. 3 facility has a production scale equivalent to one and a half times the combined capacity of Yageo's first and second Dafa plants. The factory is a key part of Yageo's strategy to expand investment in Taiwan amid ongoing trade tensions between the US and China.
