On October 16, 2025, Huawei launched several new products in Taiwan, including the WATCH GT 6 Pro, GT 6, and FreeBuds SE 4 ANC. Yong Hai, general manager of Xunwei Technology, Huawei's exclusive distributor in Taiwan, said that Huawei has continued to strengthen its investment in technological innovation and product research and development, achieving significant results in its all-scenario smart life strategy, which covers five major areas of daily living. Huawei plans to further expand its presence in Taiwan's smart wearable market.

Although Huawei's current market scale in Taiwan remains limited, the introduction of wearable products reflects its long-term strategy centered on AI and multi-scenario applications. According to IDC statistics, Huawei's global market share for wearables reached 22.2% in the second quarter of 2025, with cumulative shipments exceeding 200 million units. Accelerating new product introductions in Taiwan, while expanding retail channels and experience spaces, clearly demonstrates Huawei's determination to rebuild its terminal ecosystem in the post-smartphone era.

Strong momentum in Taiwan's wearable market

In Taiwan, Huawei's wearable product sales have grown 50% in 2025 and are expected to reach 60% growth by the end of the year. Meanwhile, audio product sales have maintained growth of more than 25%. As wearables become an essential node in smart living, Huawei aims to provide a seamless, all-scenario experience, from sports and work to travel, through an integrated product ecosystem.

Yong Hai explained that Huawei's wearable roadmap extends from high-end products featuring advanced functions and premium materials to mid-range sports and entry-level fashion series, complemented by earphones, bands, and accessories to form a multi-tiered product lineup.

Although certain features cannot yet be implemented in Taiwan due to regulatory restrictions, Huawei will continue to introduce new models with innovative functions to offer users a more complete experience. Current market trends in Taiwan show that many band users are shifting toward smartwatches. Higher-end models have recorded especially strong sales, indicating that differentiation and brand strength are key market drivers.

AI integration and edge-intelligent devices

Wearables are increasingly deeply integrated with AI. The computing concepts used in smartphones are likely to be further transplanted into smartwatches and smart glasses, forming a new generation of edge-intelligent devices.

Phones and watches paired together provide the best user experience. With the absence of a smartphone presence in Taiwan, Huawei's wearable strategy has been to enhance cross-platform compatibility. Huawei devices bridge ecosystem gaps by supporting both Android and iOS systems. Around half of Huawei's users in Taiwan are iOS users, demonstrating the success of this cross-platform approach.

Expanding offline presence

In addition to maintaining its online store and e-commerce platforms, Huawei also plans to strengthen its offline presence. In 2025, the company plans to establish more than 200 display and experience locations across Taiwan and collaborate with department stores to open dedicated sections. Yong Hai emphasized that physical experiences are key to wearable sales, and Huawei will continue integrating online and offline strategies with professional showcases to further build brand strength.

Huawei will continue to deepen the integration of AI and wearables, enhancing its capabilities in self-developed chips, systems, and models. By combining health monitoring, fitness data, and personal assistant services, the company aims to create a more complete smart ecosystem. With advantages in proprietary chips, systems, and AI models, paired with a broad user base, Huawei is positioned to maintain competitiveness for the long run.
