Industrial PC specialist Adlink Technology has begun fulfilling orders and kicking off shipments of its AI edge computing devices, according to the Taiwan-based company.
Adlink noted its long working relationship with Nvidia, adding that it used Nvidia's Jetson Nano Developer Kit and RTX GPUs to launch an assortment of products and solutions that can be used in diverse settings. Adlink also connects with partners in different industrial ecosystems through its EdgeOpen business platform.
Adlink chairman Jim Liu pointed out that the development of key technologies such as AI, 5G, and IoT is heralding the edge computing generation. In the future, Liu said applications such as edge computing/analysis, edge visualization, and autonomous mobility will all be closely related to the development of edge AI.
Although Adlink began shipping its edge AI products in the first half of this year, Adlink remains cautiously optimistic about edge AI development and has invested in long-term technology and product R&D. Despite the recent rapid development of edge AI, Adlink noted that its actual mass entrance into the market will not be as quick.
According to understanding, orders for edge AI products have long existed in the market but the scale has not been big, mainly since different application fields are still in the testing and verification stages. However, customers have not given up on the market due to its potential.
Adlink has already established key strategic partnerships with AUO, Intel, Nvidia, Arm, Qualcomm, NXP Semiconductors, and MediaTek. The company is focused on edge computing, edge AI, and edge visualization applications.
According to Adlink, the smart factory, autonomous mobile robot (AMR), smart health care, autonomous driving, and smart cockpit markets will all be important development fields for edge AI in the future.
