Coretronic Intelligent Logistics Solution (CiLS) is showcasing autonomous mobile forklifts and autonomous mobile carriers at 2022 Taipei Logistics & IoT Exhibition during August 24-27, according to the company.

For smart manufacturing and warehouse applications, autonomous mobile forklifts and carriers are equipped with in-house-developed 2D/3D LiDAR-based SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) automatic navigation system which can simultaneously undertake localization and 2D/3D mapping. By virtue of algorithms and motion control, the navigation system enables such forklifts and carriers to precisely position themselves, avoid collision, move along optimal routes, and automatically switch maps to accurately and efficiently perform tasks, CiLS said.

Autonomous mobile forklifts matched with WMS (warehouse management system) can lift goods weighing over two tons and recognize pallets of varying specifications and goods of various dimensions, CiLS noted, adding that models with high lift head (hoisting height) have been widely used to lift pallet boards and stack them in many levels.

With customized dimensions of vehicle bodies, autonomous mobile carriers can be used in warehouses or in outdoor space and, in addition, equipped with external robotic arms, conveyors, jacking modules or towing modules to meet needs, CiLS indicated. To collaborate with other equipment, such carriers do not entail secondary positioning.

WMS is connected with ERP (enterprise resource planning), MES (manufacturing execution system) and VMS (vehicle management system) to control forklifts or carriers and automated storage/retrieval systems. Besides, WMS can be connected with IT and OT (operational technology) systems to integrate production-related information with logistics, and allow remote monitoring of operating conditions of autonomous mobile forklifts or carriers via notebooks, tablets or personal digital assistants.
