Amazon Global Selling (AGS) has helped Taiwan-based manufacturers and merchandise sellers promote sales of their own-brand products in overseas markets via Amazon's global e-commerce network, with the number of sellers recording sales of over US$1.0 million each in 2021 soaring 146% from 2019, according to AGS Taiwan general manager Amanda Chen.

Having operated in Taiwan for five years, AGS has used its global resources to help Taiwan-based small- to medium-size enterprises that had not digitally transformed operation or undertaken cross-border e-commerce due to lack of own resources tap overseas markets, Chen said.

AGS has seen over the 5-year period continued growth in the numbers of brands and categories of merchandise items available for sale, with sellers capitalizing on Amazon tools to solve their pain points, Chen noted.

The number of registered brands at present is nearly 30 times that of 2017, Chen said. In the past year, sellers made deployment in three different markets on average, with more than 20% deploying for multiple markets, Chen indicated.

Sellers have recorded good sales performance in PCs and peripherals, wireless accessories, home- and kitchen-use goods, products used in health and personal care, Chen said.
