Taiwanese manufacturers demonstrated strong ambition toward adopting ISA-95 Layer 1 and 2 manufacturing equipment automation as well as Layer 5 e-operation and product management automation.
Abstract

Taiwanese companies were keen in implementing ISA-95 Layer 1 and 2 automation solutions as well as Layer 5 ones.

However, these companies still hesitated in incorporating Layer 3 manufacturing management automation as they worry about automated data exchange across open and interconnected private cloud or public cloud.

As to Layer 4 production scheduling and logistics management automation, most companies currently engage in short-term trial with no full-scale, long-term and consistent strategic planning yet.

In comparison to past surveys, more than 40% of the companies across all the industries raised their smart manufacturing investments in 2021 from the prior year level.
