TSMC saw its November revenue climb over 10% sequentially, while revenue at United Microelectronics (UMC) and Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS) both hit record highs.
TSMC has reported revenue of NT$148.27 billion (US$5.35 billion) for November 2021, up 10.2% on month and 18.7% on year. Revenue totaled NT$1.43 trillion for the first 11 months of this year, rising 17.2% from the same period in 2020.
UMC saw its revenue hit a record high for the second consecutive month in November 2021, when revenue grew 2.6% sequentially and 33.5% from a year earlier to NT$19.66 billion. Its cumulative 2021 revenue through November increased 19.3% from a year ago to NT$192.73 billion.
Eight-inch foundry VIS' November revenue surged nearly 16% on month to NT$4.36 billion. Its revenue for the first 11 months of 2021 came to NT$39.35 billion, rising 30.6% on year.
Market watchers expect TSMC, UMC and VIS to all see their fourth-quarter revenue come within company guidances given previously.
TSMC expects to post revenues of between US$15.4 billion and US$15.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021, which is a 4.5% sequential increase at the midpoint. Based on its sales guidance for the fourth quarter, TSMC has narrowed its revenue growth outlook this year to 24%.
UMC expects to post 1-2% sequential growth each in wafer shipments and ASPs for the fourth quarter. The foundry saw its revenues hit a record high for the eighth consecutive quarter in the third quarter of 2021.
VIS expects to post revenue of between NT$12.3 billion (US$411.5 million) and NT$12.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021, representing a sequential increase of 3.6-6.9%. The quarter would mark VIS' eighth consecutive quarter of record-high sales.
