Server and storage device chassis maker Chenbro Micom will undertake trial run at a new factory in Chiayi, Taiwan in October 2021 and start production in the following month, according to company chairperson Maggi Chen.

The new factory are highly automated, including adoption of collaborative robots made by Techman Robot, Chen said, adding Chenbro has recruited about 140 technicians, meeting 70% of the technical workforce needed for the factory in the first phase.

The factory is likely to roll out 40,000 chassis in December 2021, or 30% of its monthly production capacity, Chen indicated. Chenbro expects the factory's monthly output to exceed that of another factory in Taiwan and two others in China in 2022, Chen said, adding that the new plant will focus on production for US-based clients.

Chenbro posted consolidated revenues of NT$4.157 billion (US$149 million), gross margin of 20.90%, operating profit of NT$419 million and net profit of NT$303 million for first-half 2021.

Chassis used in servers and storage devices accounted for 98% of the consolidated revenues and PC chassis for 2%. North and Latin Americas accounted for 44% of the revenues, China 34%, Europe 6% and others 16%.
