Weblink International, a channel distributor under Acer, expects to experience a challenging second-half 2021, as demand may weaken, according to company president Dave Lin.

Weblink will step up inventory control in the short term and will try to push into more channel platforms and expand into non-IT businesses to strengthen its competitiveness in the long term, Lin said.

Weblink announced May consolidated revenues of NT$1.61 billion (US$57.16 million), up 36.4% on year, with the amount for the first five months of 2021 growing 4.1% on year to reach NT$6.22 billion.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for PCs, monitors and peripherals, wireless routers, air purifiers and game consoles all enjoyed strong sales recently, Lin said.

The company's sales are expected to gain momentum in the fourth quarter due to Inventory preparations for year-end and Lunar New Year holidays, Lin noted.

Weblink is currently a distributor of brands including LG Electronics, Sharp, Whirlpool, Hitachi, 3M and Philips.
