EMS provider Qisda has disclosed it will invest NT$1.815 billion (US$57.8 million) to take about 35% stake in value-added ICT distributor Sysage Technology and another NT$172.5 million for about 20% stake in IP camera ODM Topview Optronics.
Qisda said it will invest in the two firms by subscribing to their new shares via private placement.
Sysage is a Taiwan sales agent for more than 40 international ICT vendors including Cisco Systems, Citrix Systems, Dell, IBM, Oracle, Red Hat, VMware and SAP and the investment will allow various hardware/software products to be incorporated in Qisda-developed smart solutions, said Qisda.
Topview is developing smart analytics based on machine vision technology and deep learning algorithm, Qisda indicated.
The stake investments will enhance Qisda's capability of developing smart solutions for manufacturing, medical care, education, retail operations, business administration and energy management, it said.
Qisda's consolidated revenues for July reached NT$13.526 billion, decreasing 8.21% sequentially but increasing 7.30% on year, and those of NT$94.615 billion for January-July grew 9.60% on year.
