Altek June revenues hit 33-month high

Digital camera ODM and imaging solution developer Altek has reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.296 billion (US$42.6 million) for June, the highest since October 2015 with increases 10.63% sequentially and 56.12% on year.

Altek posted consolidated revenues of NT$3.455 billion for the second quarter, the highest since the fourth quarter of 2015 with growths of 47.89% sequentially and 39.72% on year, and those of NT$5.792 billion for January-June rose 12.80% on year.

Altek has transformed itself into a provider of smart vision solutions including 3D depth-sensing chips and algorithms, image processing technologies for licensed use and dual-lens CCM (compact camera module) solutions. Altek has become a design partner for Qualcomm through offering reference designs for Qualcomm-developed QCS605 and QCS603, two SoCs for IoT (Internet of Things) devices.

Altek has also developed an artificial pancreas, a device to monitor diabetes patients' blood glucose density and release insulin when necessary. The device is in clinical experiment for medical certification and expected to come into production in fourth-quarter 2018.

Optical lens module maker Genius Electronic Optical has also reported consolidated revenues of NT$587.3 million for June, growing 12.68% sequentially and 19.38% on year. Con solidated revenues for second-quarter 2018 reached NT$1.624 billion decreasing 9.00% sequentially but increasing 14.91% on year, and those of NT$3.409 billion for January-June rose 17.47% on year.
