Drill bit maker Topoint Technology expects its OEM drilling services to drive revenue growth for the company in 2014.
A division of work between companies at different tiers of the supply chain remains a major trend, said Topoint chairman David Lin, adding that the company has actively approached a number of downstream clients which are looking to outsource mechanical and laser drilling for cost reasons.
Topoint's OEM drilling business now accounts for 30% of its revenues. The sales proportion is expected to reach 50% in 2015, Lin indicated.
Growing demand coming from the mobile device, high-end base station, server and automotive PCB segments will make a positive contribution to Topoint's revenues in 2014, Lin noted.
Market watchers expect Topoint's revenues for 2013 to increase 10-15%. Revenues are set to rise further in 2014, the watchers said.
Topoint has reported consolidated revenues of NT$661 million (US$22.5 million) for the third quarter of 2013, 1.3% lower than the record-high level of NT$669 million in the prior quarter. Topoint's cumulative 2013 revenues through September totaled NT$1.89 billion, rising 10.9% from the same period of 2012.
