Touch-panel controller IC maker Egalax_Empia Technology (EETI) is expected to see its revenues expand robustly in the third and fourth quarters of 2010 as a number of notebook vendors including Acer and Hewlett-Packard (HP) have adopted the company's touch-panel solutions for their notebooks, according to industry sources.
Buoyed by increasing demand, the company saw its second-quarter revenues increase 31% sequentially and 53% on year to NT$180 million (US$5.62 million). EPS for the quarter is expected to post at NT$0.90-1.00.
Solutions for multi-point touch panels accounted for 10% of shipments in the second quarter and the percentage will rise further in the third quarter, the sources noted.
EETI's revenues are likely to grow over 20% sequentially in the third quarter due to shipments of multi-touch panel solutions to Acer, the sources indicated.
