Though enjoying only a moderate sales increase for the first quarter, Gigabyte Technology on April 30 reported the highest year-on-year growth in profits, reaching over 25%, among the four first-tier motherboard makers.
Bolstered by a margin of 20.8%, also the highest among the top four companies, Gigabyte posted first-quarter pre-tax profits of NT$1.34 billion, ranking second to Asustek Computer. Boosted by the performance, the company surpassed the other three manufacturers with an EPS of NT$2.21.
Along with the release, the company also announced that it will issue a NT$3 dividend for its 2002 earnings, including a NT$2.5 cash dividend and a NT$0.5 stock dividend.
